Established in the early 1980's, the Nlaka'pamux Nation Tribal Council (NNTC) was given the responsibility to protect and advance the title and rights of the Nlaka'pamux Nation. Title and rights are our way of life, our ties to the land and our responsibility to protect for future generations. 

Our team is seeking an Accounts Receivable and Clerk, for a full-time position based in Lytton with travel throughout the Nlaka’pamux homeland, as required.

Reporting to the Senior Finance and Accounting Manager, the main purpose of this role is to:

  • Accounts receivable duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

  • Provide financial, administrative and clerical services

  • Coordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Receive Accounts Receivable (AR) invoice request, verify coding and accuracy, and prepare invoices

  • Receive and receipt incoming payments and prepare bank deposits and transfers

  • Process receipts in the AR system and daily filing of all AR documents, reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting and recording AR data

  • Liaising and communicating between Operations, Administration, Finance and Governing Entity by attending meetings, securing and sharing documentation, and preparing administrative reports

  • Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies

  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)

  • Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned

This rewarding opportunity will appeal to professionals with some work experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, preferably within a First Nations environment. This individual should also have strong communication skills and an ability to be organized and detailed. Previous education or a willingness to undertake education in Accounting, Finance, Administration or related is desired.
