A.E.W. LP Field Coordinator ~ Closed

A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking a Field Coordinator for the 2021 field season (approximately March 1,2021 to October 15, 2021). This position is based out of Hope, BC.

A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out “on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights. A.E.W. LP is guided by the fundamental Nlaka’pamux law: Take care of the land and the land will take care of you.

A.E.W. LP is a vehicle created to ensure work of the highest standard, controlled by the Nlaka’pamux, is done to protect and promote Nlaka’pamux title and rights.

Your role as field coordinator will include providing direct support to field crews, procurement of supplies and equipment, daily reporting support and crew orientations. You will work with a skilled and experienced team of technicians and professionals.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

·       Assist project managers with crew coordination, scheduling and communication.

·        Compiling daily reports in cooperation with field supervisors.

·        Assisting with incident reporting in compliance with project specifications.

·        Coordinating orientation and training requirements for multiple staff members.

·       Communicating with field staff and procurement of supplies and equipment as needed.

·       Assist the day-to-day field coordination of project activities.

·       Collate daily field reports including collecting project related receipts.

·       Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers during project execution.

·       Reviewing team resourcing requirements and adjusting as needed.

·       B.Sc. in biology or related field is preferred but not required.

·       Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork;

·       An ability/interest to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations for extended periods of time.

·       Demonstrated experience working as a positive team contributor.

·       Effective written and oral communication skills.

·       Possess a current and valid Canadian Driver’s License.

·       Excellent organizational skills (prioritizing, time management, record keeping, follow up).

·       Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

·       Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and work well under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Previous experience working with Indigenous community members.

·       Strong team player, self-motivated and proactive thinker.

·       Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Adobe Acrobat.

Other key qualities you will possess include self-motivation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
