Fleet and Equipment Manager
A.E.W. Limited Partnership (A.E.W. LP) is seeking a Fleet and Equipment Manager for a permanent, full-time position. The work location for this position is flexible - A.EW. LP has offices in Kamloops and Lytton
A.E.W. LP was formed in 2017 by Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council member communities to carry out “on the ground” work related to archaeology, the environment and wildlife protection. This work has been made necessary by activities of others within the Nlaka’pamux homeland including transportation, mining, forestry, oil and gas, and utilities projects. The Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council is not opposed to development within our homeland but developments and activities must be consistent with Nlaka’pamux title and rights. A.E.W. LP is guided by the fundamental Nlaka’pamux law: Take care of the land and the land will take care of you.
A.E.W. LP is a vehicle created to ensure work of the highest standard, controlled by the Nlaka’pamux, is done to protect and promote Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
As the Fleet and Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for the management of equipment companywide, in addition to managing the maintenance, repair, driver compliance and dispatch of the company fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Schedule preventative maintenance, inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors for company vehicles as required.
Develop and manage an asset lifecycle plan, including a purchase plan.
Evaluate and recommend equipment procurement needs, prepare specifications to meet the needs.
Manage the fleet replacement program including directing, planning and support the purchase and coordination of all vehicles and equipment.
Manage Cheqroom software to ensure equipment is checked in and checked out as required. Add new equipment as it is purchased.
Oversee the development, administration and maintenance of the companies’ fleet maintenance program.
Contributes to the organization’s annual planning process as it relates asset planning.
Coordinate and manage all rental equipment for project including maintenance, rental, procurement and logistics.
Support the engagement of multiple vendors to determine the optimal pricing and agreements for fleet and equipment purchases.
Maintain adequate supplies and equipment for the respective field teams
Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required.
Maintain inventory of new equipment, manuals and warranties.
Commitment to the protection and enhancement of Nlaka’pamux title and rights.
Key qualities that you will possess, in order to be considered for this role are:
High school graduate with some post-secondary or equivalent life experience.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Preferably 2 years of working experience in managing equipment.
Strong knowledge in the areas of supply chain management, sourcing, purchasing, logistics and inventory control is required.
Possess a current and valid Canadian Driver’s license.
Excellent organizational skills (prioritizing, time management, record keeping, follow up).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Other key qualities you will possess include personal integrity, work ethic, and the ability to demonstrate innovative problem-solving and strong analytical skills that can be applied to resolving complex situations and increase efficiencies.
