What Will the Human Resources Manager Undertake?
As the HR Manager reporting directly to the President you are responsible for the organization's overall effective human resource strategic planning and execution aligned with the vision and mandate of DROP. In support of the President’s strategic direction, you provide the human resources leadership to support the vision and strengthen the entire human capital of the organization.
You are responsible for building open and honest partnerships with leaders and employees as well as the organizational development of this fast-growing, innovative, organization and as such, bring a variety of tools, methods, and modalities to the achievement of the work. You plan, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the human resources function, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of DROP’s mission and talent goals. You provide the smooth running of the organization aligned with best practices in organizational development and talent management, including employee engagement, performance management, and HR policy development and implementation. You also plan and coordinate learning workshops, team gatherings and retreats. In all, you establish a better culture and employee experience in a remote environment.
What Skills, Competencies and Experience Does the Manager of People and Culture Possess?
Well versed in change management, you must also be able to work in a fast-paced, complex, and rapidly developing environment, holding and promoting the organizations' talent management and human resource interests in advancing innovative manufacturing. This is a busy, challenging, and engaging opportunity for an experienced HR professional who is committed to supporting an engaged employee group. As the ideal candidate, you are a highly professional individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills with a penchant for relationship building and the ability to nurture a positive environment as well as exercise critical thinking skills. You have exceptional human resource and talent management skills and a thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, high level recruitment, facilitating learning and development and supporting all silos of HR through sound HR Metrics and budgeting.
You possess a degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field with five years' recent, related experience in Human Resources or you have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Having your CPHR designation is an asset.

The DROP Group is located in beautiful Nelson, BC. Nelson is one of Canada's hidden gems. Nestled in the Selkirk Mountains along the West Arm of Kootenay Lake, the vibrant mountain town of approximately 10,000 residents features a special combination of heritage, recreation, culture, and creativity. It's been called North America's best ski town and Canada's best small arts and culture town for good reason.
This position can be located anywhere in BC as working from home, full-time and permanently, is an option, however regular travel to Nelson is required and a relocation would be ideal.
