Sunshine Coast Resource Centre
Connecting services and resources to people in need on the Sunshine Coast since 1992
Are you a passionate, community minded, collaborative, and knowledgeable non-profit leader ready to lead a grassroots community organization? Our client, the Sunshine Coast Community Resources Centre, is pleased to announce they are looking for their next Executive Director to lead this vital organization. This part-time role is ideal for someone who cares about helping others and feels satisfaction in being a community connector.
The Beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC
The Sunshine Coast of BC, long touted as a 180 KM stretch of paradise, gains its rich heritage from the original inhabitants – the Coast Salish people. It is a contemporary hub that balances abundant, natural beauty and a surplus of adventure with growing industry sectors in technology, retail, and tourism. Located just a 40-minute ferry away from Vancouver, “The Coast” also counts on forestry, cultural arts, and fishing to support the area.
The Sunshine Coast Community Resource Centre
The Resource Centre has been one of the Sunshine Coast’s key social service providers since 1992. Originally a Women’s Resource Centre, in 2004, their mandate changed to include all Lower Coast residents. Now they offer programs and services for all members of the community while continuing to support needs specific to women. Their goal is to help you find the services you need to succeed in the face of life’s challenges, whether big or small.
To do that, they share information with you, and connect you to the organization that is best able to assist you. They offer these information and referral services in-person, by phone, by e-mail and through group presentations and workshops and at no cost.
Using a grassroots, community development approach to strategic planning, they start out with a comprehensive community consultation and needs assessment. The Resource Centre often works in partnership with other community organizations to improve the service offerings available to residents of the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
