CHARTHOUSE LAWYERS
Live, work, and play on the Sunshine Coast!
The Sunshine Coast of BC, long touted as a 180 KM stretch of paradise, gains its rich heritage from the original inhabitants – the Coast Salish people. It is a contemporary hub that balances rich, natural beauty and a surplus of adventure with growing industry sectors in technology, retail and tourism. Nestled between the ocean and the forest, and just a 40-minute ferry ride from the Lower Mainland, Sechelt boasts a blend of abundant water and land activities, a mild climate, spectacular views, numerous beaches and parks, and a strong sense of community.
Our client, Charthouse Lawyers, located in Sechelt and serving the Sunshine Coast of BC is seeking an innovative thinker who is both responsive and friendly to fill a full-time Junior or Senior Associate position.
Who is Charthouse?
Engaged in business law, real estate law and estate planning and administration, Charthouse is a team of advisors whose sole purpose is to provide responsive, quality client services to individuals and local businesses on the Sunshine Coast.
Charthouse Lawyers is a small but dedicated team driven by the idea of increasing access to justice through entrepreneurship. Their mission is to relieve people and local businesses of anxiety and confusion by matching the client to the right legal service at the right price. At Charthouse Lawyers, the core values are predicated upon empathy, commitment, integrity, and accountability.
Who Are You?
Well, first you are a lawyer who has been called to the bar for at least a year – though a thirty-year call is equally welcome. You are smart, fun, authentic and inspired to increase access to justice. You are a hard-working, accurate and team focused individual with a desire to contribute to a unique, robust, and growing community, both within the firm and on the Coast. Charthouse is looking for a candidate who matches our values and is open to hiring someone with different career paths in mind. If you are:
· a client/customer service and people oriented person who absolutely loves spending your day meeting clients, educating individuals and groups about important legal issues, and driving client matters in a predominantly supervisory capacity, rather than doing it largely yourself, we can offer you a role as our primary liaison with clients, acting as both a brand ambassador to the community and an advocate for clients within the firm;
· an autonomous professional who loves getting into the minutiae of legal issues and is happiest advancing files and not worrying about where the next client is going to come from, we can offer you a role as an associate or of counsel who can drive forward files and help monitor our internal standards of quality;
· or possibly a family lawyer, who is looking to set up your own practice, and believes that family law services should be a comfortable and accessible, we are interested in expanding our service areas to meet a massively underserved segment of the Sunshine Coast’s legal needs;
then this role and the Coast’s 9-5 lifestyle may be for you!
Additionally, Charthouse operates on the traditional lands of the shíshálh Nation, and in keeping with the Charthouse values that demand support for Indigenous peoples, we strongly encourage applications from Metis, Inuit or members of First Nations in Canada to help us be more representative of the experiences in our community.
