Agreement Implementation Manager ~ Interviewing
Established in the early 1980's, the Nlaka'pamux Nation Tribal Council (NNTC) was given the responsibility to protect and advance the title and rights of the Nlaka'pamux Nation. Title and rights are our way of life, our ties to the land and our responsibility to protect for future generations.
Our team is seeking an Agreement Implementation Manager, for a full-time position. The role can be based in either Lytton, Kamloops, or the Lower Mainland with travel throughout the Nlaka’pamux homeland, as required.
Reporting to the Senior Implementation Manager, the Agreement Implementation Manager acts as the primary liaison with business partners on all aspects of agreement implementation in the homeland and holds primary accountability for the success of engagement shifts. The Agreement Implementation Manager will ensure commitments made by these companies are met in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions and for facilitating communications with respect to all aspects of agreement implementation.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Having a consistent presence in the territory to gain a deep understanding of the objectives of NNTC and its unique world views and values.
Managing the relationships NNTC has with its business partners to ensure a coordinated approach to discussions about their activities in Nlaka’pamux territory. This includes managing the implementation of the final agreements to ensure all commitments are met.
Researching and clarifying specific terms and conditions of agreements to ensure the intent of the original agreements are met.
Developing detailed implementation plans and communication protocols and consults with senior negotiators throughout the implementation phase.
This rewarding opportunity will appeal to professionals with 7-10 years experience working with Indigenous entities in the management of title and rights, including the economic component of title. You will have a university degree in public administration, law, anthropology, or related discipline. A demonstrated proficiency and understanding of the economic component of title and rights. Project management experience is considered an asset. You should also have strong communication skills, an ability to be organized and detailed and an exemplary level of integrity, work ethic, and accountability.
