James + McIntyre is a focused and dedicated accounting and advisory firm with two offices on the Sunshine Coast plus two more in Victoria and Calgary. This dynamic firm is seeking a remote Personal Tax Technician to join their tax and accounting team until mid-June.

 As a contracted member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing T1 personal income tax returns for a seasonal period. Reporting to a Senior Staff Accountant, your Key Accountabilities Include: 

·        Correspondence with clients to gather information relevant to tax return preparation

·        T1 personal tax return preparation

·        GST return preparation and filing (for self-employed individuals) 

This is a wonderful role for a seasoned tax professional looking to fill a gap in employment or an individual looking for short term work. All work is online and can be done from home.  

You possess knowledge of relevant personal income tax laws and/or the ability to competently find answers to tax questions is required. It is important to note that the Tax Preparer is responsible for ensuring that preparation of returns happens in a timely manner in order to meet filing deadlines. This is an essential aspect of the role.
